CDSA Training and Self Help
A small tailoring unit on the ground floor is both a training and income generating facility for women.
Girls and women can be particularly disadvantaged and marginalised in society.
The top floor is regularly hired out for village functions, generating much needed rental income.
So far, it has been hired out for 22 village functions and wedding receptions during its first two years, producing rental income of Rs 59,500, approximately £600.
The income we receive has been used to maintain the building.
We have repainted the floor, purchased a new bed for overnight stays, installed a cupboard and shelf, put in a new glass window and frame over the stairwell as the rain was coming in through an unglazed window.
Our administrative costs are low, with 97% of the funds we raise used directly in India…
